Boston Fashion Week.
2011’s Boston Fashion Week was a wonderful display of art, networking and most importantly Fashion. I had the great honor of being able to attend two events as a part of Boston’s Fashion Week. I’ve never been in such an eccentric atmosphere in the world of Fashion.
Mary Zanor of Elevate Communications gave me the distinct honor of being able to attend the official Kick Off for Boston’s Fashion Week 2011. She allowed me two passes to attend this event. As a plus size blogger, newly entering the industry, I was more than thrilled to attend this event with Camera Man, Wesley JeanBaptiste.

Chambord is the official martini of Style’s events during Boston Fashion Week.

At first it was a bit overwhelming, but after a pep talk with Wesley, I was able to breathe in the atmosphere and get to talking to all the attendees. I interviewed Leslie Kwan and Zack Lo, whom were 2 of the 25 most stylish awardees for the night. Also, I have one plus size feature by the name of Christian Caruso. She is a Fashion Merchandising Student. As well as Chimbere Iruka (a make up artist), Ben Glassner (young fashion aficionado) and Heleena Norvette( 1/3 of Urban Fresh-Master Image Consultant)
Petit Robert Central provided an excellent atmosphere for the event. There was an immediate sense of fashion forwardness as soon as you entered the door. As we walked in, we were greeted by volunteers for the event and the photographers for Boston Globe had chosen me to take a picture in front of their backdrop!!! I instantly felt welcomed. They also gave me a ticket to get a free Chambord Martini, which was the official martini of Style Magazine’s events during fashion week. It was a very refreshing drink.
During the night, there were great hors d’oeuvres being served by Petit Robert Central. There were also dancers from a dance company whom performed the entire night. There was also a raffle that Style was having for a $100.00 gift certificate to Dependable Cleaners…and guess what I WON!!!!
I would first and foremost like to thank Mary Zanor with amazing experience she provided me that night. I learned that fashion wasn’t only about how expensive clothing is or how you wear it, but a lot has to do with the personality of the person expressing themselves through fashion.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures, review and interviews!!
And remember this, “Fashion is what you adopt when you don’t know who you are.”
